Before we left on the fieldtrip we made a grocery list to take to the store. When I asked the kids what we needed to make Chicken salad-they said Chicken.
Good job kids-YAY!!! We wrote downChicken, nuts, celery and mayo on our list.
We then went into the School Library so the Principal could talk to the kids before we left and take a few pics .
The school has it's own bus so we rode it to the Lotte Mart which was only a short ride away.
Lotte Mart is huge and has several floors-they have grocery, housewares, clothes etc.
We were told the food was on the lowest level so we headed down there and started looking for the things on our list.
We easily found chicken and next to the chicken was a fish tank with all kinds of fish swimming around including small sharks. The kids loved the fish and we looked at them a very long time.
Then we saw nuts so looked at all the nuts available and the kids choose walnuts.
Next we headed to the produce area of the store and went through the whole area like 5 times when we finally realized there was no celery. So we looked at all the greens etc. so kids could pick something else and the kids chose spinach.
When we were looking for celery the kids saw the cutest orange, yellow and red little tomatoes. They really wanted some of those so we got a few of each even though they were not on our list.
We went to grab Mayo real fast and then headed upstairs with the other two classes to get stickers and pencils.
Near the stationary area was the pet area and they had the cutest little black and white bunnies for like $20. I try to convince my principal that they would be a great classroom pet but she was worried about how big they would get etc.
So we then went to pick out stickers and pencils and let me tell you there were alot of choices-we were over there awhile. We then thought it was time to head to the checkout but were told it would be longer than expected before the bus to come get us.
So we went to go look and the animals again to keep kids from getting restless. My kids did pretty good-they were starting to get tired and hungry though. Well some of the kids in one of the other classes were not on their best behavior and were causing some problems.
Soon it was time to go and we checked out, headed for the bus and went back to school. We got back just in time for lunch. After lucnh we discussed the things we saw on our fieldtrip and wrote down what we saw as well as drawing pictures.
We finished the day with making chicken salad and the kids loved the chicken and tomatoes so they picked those thngs out and did not eating sny nuts or spinach as after trying a few bites said those things were yucky. The kids loved the little tomatoes though and wished we had gotten more of them. There were so little and cute and yummy.
We had a Great, First Fieldtrip-YAY!!!! I look forward to more fieldtrip adventures with my class and sharing them with all of you as well.
