Anyone who knows me knows how much I love books and love to read to kids. Well I brought a few small, very portable kids books with me from the states to Korea by one of my favorite author's-Maurice Sendak. He is the author of Where the Wild Things are-great book.
But my all time favorite Maurice Sendak book is Chicken Soup with Rice-which is a book all about the Months of the year. It is great for teaching the Months,Seasons, and has a predictable pattern that is great for beginning readers and for Early English Learners as well.
Well I have read the book everyday this week to my Kinder and After Kinder kids and I think they love it as much as I do.
They keep asking to hear it over and over.
They are also repeating some the words as I read and if I start with the word Chicken-the finish off with Soup with rice.
I am so proud and so excited and love to see their little eyes light up when they learn something new or are praised for getting a new word in English right etc.
I loving sharing the gift of great literature with children and it is so amazing to see them enjoy the book, laugh, smile, understand and learn from it as well.
Books are such a wonderful and amazing learning tool and so happy I brought this one with me.
